Dear Parents of Timberwolves,
As you remember back in September we had to adjust the length of the school day to coincide with the Union Parish School Board Bus Schedule. Our day begins at 7:50 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. The students’ last day of school was moved until May 27, 2010. We appreciate your understanding in the changes we had to make to meet the educational requirements of our school.
With the change in school day time, we have some additional considerations that need your attention.
Any student who arrives at school later than 7:50 a.m. MUST BE CHECKED IN AS TARDY IN THE SCHOOL OFFICE. Please do not just let your child out of the car and send them into the building. According to DWCS school policy, after three (3) tardies your student receives one unexcused absence. You must check your student in if they are tardy.
Beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, November 11, 2009, the side entrances (car pick-up/car drop-off) will be locked at 7:50 a.m. No student will be able to enter the building except through the front door after the school day has begun.
Additionally, we will stop serving breakfast at 7:45 a.m. each morning. If you wish your student to eat breakfast with us, please make sure they are here in plenty of time.
Each instructional minute that your child(ren) is with us, we treasure. It is our goal to make the most of each of them. All students need to be in their classrooms with their teachers and ready to participate in class activities beginning at 7:50 a.m.
For your information, report cards for the 2nd six weeks will be sent home next Tuesday, November 17, 2009.
